Responsible for assisting with operations, profitability, and customer satisfaction in the service department. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Assists Service Manager as neededAnswers technical questions about vehicle problems, warranties, services, and repairsOversees service ordersAssists in diagnosing vehicle problemsMaintains service porter’s duties and responsibilitiesOversees administration of warranty claimsOversees training and supervising of service department employeesWorks with upper management and Human Resources to make service department hiring and discipline decisionsSets schedules and assigns tasks to service department employeesMaintains good working relationship with factory(s)Attends required manager meetingsMaintains effective employee relationsMaintains CSI at or above Company standardsMaintains an organized, clean and safe work areaParticipates in required training Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.Demonstrates the Company’s Core ValuesComplies with Company policies and proceduresObserves all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.Other duties as assigned Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong ability or knowledge of the Dealership Management System in addition to other web based applications utilized for operations.Communication Skills:Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel. Attendance Expectations:The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Physical Demands:Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Environment Demands:Duties are performed primarily in the service department. Manager will work primarily in the service lane, but will also be required to work throughout the dealership. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Work includes frequent movement in and out of cars, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. Verbal and Writing Ability:Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
