Position Overview
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the service department, including technician productivity, customer experience, warranty administration, scheduling, parts coordination, and profitability. This position plays a key role in maintaining a positive reputation for quality service and customer care.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the RV service department
- Lead, coach, and motivate service advisors and technicians
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and communication
- Monitor technician productivity and department performance
- Work closely with the parts department to ensure timely repairs
- Oversee warranty claims and manufacturer compliance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service facility
- Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally
- Help recruit, train, and retain top service talent
- Meet department sales, labor, and profitability goals
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing an RV, automotive, marine, or powersports service department preferred
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Understanding of RV systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and slide systems preferred
- Experience with service scheduling and repair order management software
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license required
