    Description

    Position Summary

    The Service Porter is responsible for supporting the service department by maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient lot while delivering exceptional customer service. This role includes vehicle handling, customer transportation, and general upkeep of dealership property.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Vehicle Management
      • Park vehicles in designated areas in an organized and efficient manner
      • Retrieve vehicles quickly for customers and service staff
      • Maintain proper vehicle flow in service drive and parking lot
      • Tag and track vehicle locations accurately
    • Parking Lot & Facility Maintenance
      • Keep parking lot clean, organized, and free of debris
      • Ensure clear access to service lanes and fire lanes
      • Monitor lot for safety hazards and report issues immediately
      • Assist with snow removal, salting, or basic lot upkeep (as needed)
    • Customer Transportation
      • Shuttle customers to and from home, work, or other approved locations
      • Provide a safe, courteous, and professional driving experience
      • Maintain cleanliness and fuel levels of shuttle vehicles
    • Vehicle Pickup & Delivery
      • Pick up and drop off customer vehicles as requested
      • Perform basic vehicle inspections before and after transport
      • Ensure proper documentation and authorization for all movements
    • Service Drive Support
      • Greet customers upon arrival and assist with directing them to advisors
      • Assist with moving vehicles in and out of service bays
      • Help prepare vehicles for delivery (light cleaning, removing protective coverings)
    • Operational Support
      • Maintain cleanliness of service drive and waiting areas
      • Assist technicians and advisors with vehicle movement needs
      • Support internal departments with vehicle transfers when needed

    Additional Duties (Recommended Adds)

    • Perform basic vehicle checks (fuel level, mileage verification, visible damage documentation)
    • Assist with loaner/rental fleet organization and readiness
    • Ensure keys are properly stored and secured at all times
    • Conduct end-of-day lot walk to verify vehicle placement and security
    • Support inventory organization for used/new vehicles when needed
    • Maintain compliance with dealership safety and insurance policies

    Qualifications

    • Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years driving experience
    • Ability to drive manual transmission (preferred but not required)
    • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
    • Ability to move quickly and safely in a fast-paced environment

    Physical Requirements

    • Standing, walking, and driving for extended periods
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
    • Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently
