Service Technician
Description of the role:
The Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles for Nissan Newport News. This role requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Test drive vehicles to assess performance and identify problems
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and correct vehicle malfunctions
- Complete repair orders and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements:
- Prior experience as an automotive technician
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Valid driver's license

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies
- Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment; test drive vehicles
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Complete online multi-point inspection report
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as an auto technician
- Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Fast learner
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Team player
- Computer literate
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver’s license
