JOB TITLE: ServiceNow AI Control Tower (AICT) (20 hours/week)
LOCATION: Remote
PAY RANGE: $83 - $93/hr.
DURATION: 6 MonthsPOSITION SUMMARY:
You own ServiceNow AI Control Tower (AICT) engagements end-to-end: discovery workshop, architecture, build, go-live, and handover to the customer's governance team. You turn a customer's AI governance operating model into a working ServiceNow architecture across AICT's five pillars (Client, Secure, Govern, Observe, Measure) and the platforms underneath them: IRM, CMDB/CSDM, Security Operations, SPM, and AI Gateway. You lead the mixed company-and-customer team that builds it. The field evidence is clear: most AICT programs stall on CMDB hygiene, integration coverage, staffing and cost, not on the product. You are accountable for calling those risks early and designing around them.
WHY DO THIS:
The clients run large SAP, Oracle, and other enterprise application estates, and AI Control Tower now discovers AI assets in SAP, Oracle, and Workday as well as the hyperscalers. You will govern AI where it actually touches core business systems, not just chatbots.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Run pre-implementation discovery: where AI is used today, shadow AI, third-party AI, and how new AI assets will be requested and approved.
- Define the deployment path: Foundational first (AI asset inventory, lifecycle, workspaces), then Full Functionality (risk and compliance, security, integrations, observability, value tracking).
- Select the SKU and plugins (AICT Enterprise vs. AI Native) and confirm IRM, SPM Pro, and CMDB prerequisites before the build starts.
- Design the AI data model: how AI systems, models, datasets, prompts, and agents are represented and related in the CMDB under CSDM.
- Design the integration architecture: hyperscaler AI platforms, Microsoft Agent 365 / Foundry / Copilot Studio, AI Gateway (MCP servers, A2A, third-party LLM providers), Traceloop observability, Veza access governance, Security Operations and multi-instance management.
- Set realistic coverage targets. Be honest with the customer about which AI activity can pass through ServiceNow control paths and where runtime enforcement needs a separate tool.
- Price the full operating model, not just the build: licensing tier, CMDB cleanup, integration engineering, run staffing.
- Run design authority, own the delivery risk log, and keep the AI Steward and executive sponsor aligned.
- Lead and coach the delivery team and hold the solution to out-of-the-box-first so it stays upgradeable.
- Produce the architecture document, configuration guide, and handover pack. Support pre-sales and build reusable assets from each engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:- 8+ years in technology implementation or solution delivery, 3+ as the architect on multi-product programs.
- Hands-on ServiceNow delivery within the last 12 months. Walk us through an implementation you personally led: goals, what you customized, what went wrong, and what the customer got.
- Customer-facing advisory experience at CIO, CRO or Chief AI Officer level.
- Working knowledge of the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO/IEC 42001 and how each lands in an AI inventory and control framework.
- Hands-on knowledge of the AICT workspace, AI Asset Inventory, the AI asset lifecycle (Assess, Build & Test, Deploy), and the AICT role model.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- Plus one of the following:
- ServiceNow route: deep platform background with at least one IRM/GRC and one CMDB/ITOM implementation. CIS Risk and Compliance required now; Certified Technical Architect (CTA) expected within two years.
- Governance route: extensive GRC or AI governance architecture background with solution implementation experience. CIS Risk and Compliance expected within the first year.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- A prior AI Control Tower implementation or hands-on time in an AICT instance.
- CIS Discovery or CIS Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM); CTA.
- IAPP AIGP; TOGAF.
- Knowledge of Now Assist, AI Agent Studio, and the Generative AI Controller, so you can govern what they produce.
- Experience with SAP or Oracle estates.
HOW WE WILL ASSESS YOU:- Architecture walkthrough of a past ServiceNow program (any product line) with a focus on what you would change.
- Case: a customer with a messy CMDB, three hyperscalers and an EU AI Act deadline. Scope the Foundational phase and name the three risks you would raise in week one.
- Executive conversation role-play: explain AICT coverage limits to a sceptical CRO.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:- Customer executive sponsor and AI Steward; Legal, Security, Privacy and Enterprise Architecture leads; the full AICT delivery team; sales for pre-sales support.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THE FIRST TWO ENGAGEMENTS:- Discovery completed, deployment path and SKU agreed, architecture signed off within the first engagement.
- Foundational deployment live with real AI assets flowing in from at least one connected platform.
- Run team operates the platform from the handover pack without calling the build team.
