VMD is currently seeking applications from existing personnel performing Scheduling Operations Officer duties at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).  
About the Mission You Will Join:            
Supporting airport security operations in effort to protect the nation's transportation systems and ensure the safety and security of all individuals within our borders. 
           
Your Impact to the Mission:            
In this Incumbent Scheduling Operations Officer (SOO) opportunity, you will support operational readiness and workforce planning at the San Francisco International Airport. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing coverage across all screening checkpoints and operational areas. The SOO works closely with operational leadership to maintain compliance with contract requirements, staffing ratios, and certification requirements while ensuring schedules are prepared and distributed in advance to support efficient daily operations. In this role, you will be responsible for:            
  • Monitor daily staffing coverage to ensure adequate personnel are assigned to all required operational posts
  • Coordinate with Supervisors and Staff Duty Officers to address staffing shortages, call-outs, and operational adjustments.
  • Develop and publish employee schedules at least two weeks in advance to support operational planning.
  • Conduct shift bids every six months in accordance with company and contract requirements.
  • Ensure schedules maintain the appropriate balance of certified officers as required for screening operations.
  • Track employee certifications and ensure staffing plans account for required qualifications.
  • Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate operational demands, training, leave requests, and staffing changes.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation for compliance and operational performance.
  • Support management with workforce planning and staffing analysis as needed.
Experience Needed to Be Successful:            
  • Previous experience in scheduling, workforce planning, or operations coordination preferred. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook (E-mail Word Excel and PowerPoint) at the intermediate to expert level. Able to generate reports statistics timelines tables and correspondence.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple operational teams.
  • Ability to meet requirements for working in a secure airport environment. 
  • Ability to gather compile review and analyze data.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:            
  • Experience supporting operations within an airport, security, or government contract environment.
  • Familiarity with TSA and SPP operational standards.
  • Experience managing large workforce schedules.
  • Ability to problem-solve moderately complex issues.
  • Ability to multitask and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Preferred Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 2
  • Preferred Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field: 2

  • The anticipated hourly pay range the Employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is $20.19-$31.25
