Project Scope:
We are seeking a qualified SharePoint Online Administrator to plan, design, administer, modernize, and optimize SharePoint Online sites, workflows, configurations, and related Microsoft 365 solutions.
The selected candidate will combine SharePoint Online technical capabilities with business goals and objectives to deliver a modern, secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform that supports efficient business processes and improved customer service.
The SharePoint Online Administrator will work closely with technical teams, business unit directors, managers, and end users to enhance functionality, governance, user experience, advanced permissions, automation, and operational efficiency.
The role will include designing and developing intranet solutions, custom layouts, workflows, and automation. Strong UI/UX design skills and the ability to create user-friendly and accessible interfaces are required.
The selected candidate will deliver modern solutions using SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365, collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate business processes, maintain secure and accessible systems, and continuously enhance the SharePoint Online environment as Microsoft introduces new capabilities and retires existing features.
The contractor will also serve as a champion for SharePoint Online capabilities, helping the organization understand and maximize the functionality and usage of the platform.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, administer, and maintain the functionality of SharePoint sites, subsites, and links.
· Apply best practices within Entra ID architecture to design, administer, and manage security groups, advanced settings, and SharePoint Online permissions.
· Configure and manage site permissions for owner, member, and visitor roles.
· Perform site and content permission audits according to established requirements.
· Work with site owners to enhance the functionality of departmental SharePoint Online sites and subsites.
· Manage site layouts, structures, content, workflows, and automation.
· Provide SharePoint Online technical support to end users.
· Provide functionality training to training teams and end users.
· Review and monitor SharePoint usage reports.
· Identify and remove unused sites and perform site cleanup activities.
· Create and maintain detailed documentation for SharePoint Online services, settings, configurations, and architecture.
· Provide regular project updates to the Project Team.
· Monitor the Microsoft platform and functionality roadmap to keep the organization current with new SharePoint and Microsoft 365 capabilities.
· Manage site quotas and file-size limitations.
· Collaborate with technical and business teams to conceptualize and integrate other Microsoft 365 applications with SharePoint Online.
· Plan, organize, review, and implement project milestones through completion.
· Create architecture diagrams and technology navigation maps.
· Configure and manage site collections, hubs, libraries, lists, and permissions.
· Implement and maintain governance standards, taxonomy, metadata, and content management policies.
· Manage the SharePoint environment lifecycle, including provisioning, archival, and decommissioning of sites.
· Develop and maintain technical runbooks and operational documentation.
· Support continuous improvement of SharePoint Online functionality, usability, security, and governance.
· Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
· 5+ years of experience supporting and developing SharePoint Online (Office 365), Microsoft 365 hybrid infrastructure, Microsoft Windows environments, advanced permissions, and Entra ID.
· 5+ years of experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) for customization and integration of Microsoft 365 applications.
· 5+ years of experience with front-end design, user interface, and user experience development.
· 5+ years of experience implementing SharePoint roadmap enhancements and changes and developing technical runbooks.
· 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining workflows and Power Automate configurations.
· Strong understanding of Microsoft SharePoint Online best practices.
· Strong technical documentation skills.
· Strong understanding of SharePoint Online administration, configuration, permissions, and governance.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with data governance, data governance frameworks, data policies, and policy documentation.
· Advanced understanding of business processes and process improvement.
· Strong knowledge of PowerShell.
· Experience integrating Microsoft 365 applications with SharePoint Online.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Certifications:
Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
Microsoft 365 certifications.
