Join Starflex Fabrication as a Sheet Metal Production Associate
Picture your day: You arrive a few minutes before 6:00 AM, lace up your safety shoes, and gear up with PPE. The production floor comes to life as you help stage raw materials, pull laser-cut parts from nests, and get them organized for downstream operations. You move between stations—deburring, grinding, sanding, and cleaning parts—so they’re ready for press brake, welding, powder coating, and assembly teams. You keep your area tidy, follow instructions from production leads, and take pride in parts that look right and fit right.
What You’ll Do
- Support general sheet metal fabrication and production tasks in a fast-paced shop
- Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
- Remove laser-cut parts, sort, and organize them for the next operations
- Deburr, grind, sand, and clean fabricated components
- Prepare and handle materials for press brake, welding, powder coating, assembly, and more
- Match and separate parts according to routers and production paperwork
- Assist departments across the shop as needed to keep production flowing
- Use basic hand tools, power tools, grinders, and sanders after training
- Maintain orderly work areas and store tools and materials correctly
- Help with general shop cleanup and housekeeping
- Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
- Visually inspect parts for damage or defects and report issues to supervision
- Take direction from supervisors and production leads and perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Reliability, a strong work ethic, and a safety-first mindset
- Previous manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred
- Sheet metal fabrication experience is a plus—training provided for the right candidate
- Comfort using hand and power tools safely; ability to read a tape measure preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with dependable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to learn multiple areas of our manufacturing operation
Physical Demands
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift
- Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Work safely around equipment, moving material, noise, and dust in typical shop conditions
- Wear required personal protective equipment
Schedule
Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (four 10-hour shifts). Fridays are normally off. Friday overtime may be available or required based on production needs.
