Shift Manager Mechanical Maintenance

Location Cleveland OHCleveland-Cliffs Steel LLC has immediate opportunities for Shift Manager Mechanical Maintenance positions at our Cleveland Ohio facility. This front-line leadership role is responsible for leading skilled maintenance employees and directing day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities to ensure safe reliable and efficient operations.The successful candidate will drive equipment reliability support continuous improvement initiatives develop employee capabilities and promote a strong culture of safety accountability and operational excellence.Summary of ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with all safety environmental and quality standards conduct safety quality and environmental audits in a timely manner.Lead and supervise Maintenance Technician Mechanics MTMs providing day-to-day direction to support safe reliable and efficient maintenance operations.Manage the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment within assigned areas to maximize equipment availability and performance.Coach mentor and develop employees while ensuring they have the tools training and resources needed to perform their work safely and effectively.Develop expertise in area maintenance systems and equipment to support effective troubleshooting maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage maintenance budgets and resources using sound project management principles and a thorough understanding of equipment maintenance requirements.Partner with Operations Engineering Purchasing Continuous Improvement Accounting vendors suppliers and peers across the organization to develop and execute maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability and operational performance.Weekends and shift work may be required.Other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma GED or equivalent from an accredited institution.Minimum of two years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing industrial military or other relevant operations environment.Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.Ability to work in a demanding industrial environment including exposure to heat dust uneven surfaces stairs ladders and outdoor weather conditions.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Preferred QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.Three or more years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing industrial military or other relevant operations environment.Two or more years of leadership or supervisory experience.Experience working in a steel manufacturing environment.Experience leading and developing employees in a unionized workforce.Experience utilizing computerized maintenance management systems CMMS preventive maintenance programs andor equipment reliability systems.Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.The salary range for this role is 70000 to 110000.
