    Job Description

    Shift Manufacturing Supervisor- 2nd Shift

Lead the floor. Support the team. Keep production moving.

The Shift Manufacturing Supervisor leads day-to-day welding and fabrication operations, helping the team meet safety, quality, and production goals. You’ll guide production leads, welders, fabricators, and support staff; keep work moving efficiently; and make sure people have the materials, tools, and equipment they need. You’ll also work closely with management and other departments to address issues, improve processes, and support a strong, collaborative shop floor.

    What you’ll do

    • Supervise daily operations and help the department meet production targets.
    • Own the department’s Key Performance Initiatives (KPIs): maintain real-time tracking, take action to recover when results fall behind, and lead improvements in areas of concern.
    • Make sure materials, tools, and equipment are available and in good working order. Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to reduce downtime.
    • Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate production leads. Provide clear feedback to support their development and improve performance.
    • Stay visible on the production floor, coaching in real time and checking in regularly with leads to clarify priorities and targets.
    • Keep staffing aligned with production needs. Flex labor in real time to address bottlenecks and maintain a balanced workflow.
    • Lead daily Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) meetings with direct reports, Engineering, Planning, and Management. Co-lead shift huddles, communicate priorities, and raise issues to cross-functional teams.
    • Oversee quality on the shift by reinforcing work instructions, owning corrective actions, and escalating high-impact issues.
    • Enforce and audit quality and safety policies, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
    • Coordinate shift handoffs to support a smooth transition and continuity between first and second shifts.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for safety and quality incidents.
    • Support Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

    What you’ll bring

    • At least five years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
    • At least two years of leadership experience.
    • High school diploma or GED; a college degree is a plus.
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
    • Basic computer skills, including work order tracking and reporting.
    • Proficiency with email, ERP, and Microsoft systems.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • The ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team.
    • A detail-oriented approach and consistent follow-through on tasks and processes.

How you’ll work with the team

You’ll help create a healthy working environment through clear, positive, and respectful communication. We value people who listen to others’ concerns and ideas, support and participate in company functions, and treat confidential information with care. Continuous improvement and customer-first thinking should guide the work.

Our values are Integrity, Trust, Creativity and Courage, Teamwork, and Excellence.

    Physical and work environment requirements

    • Work in a manufacturing or fabrication shop while wearing appropriate PPE.
    • Safely navigate the manufacturing environment.
    • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, reach, and twist throughout the shift.
    • Use office, phone, and computer equipment.
    • Use manufacturing equipment, hand tools, and measurement instruments

    Salary Range: $75K - $85K, quarterly bonus of 2%
