Shipping and Logistics Manager

Job Purpose

The Shipping Logistics Manager is responsible for leading all shipping, logistics, transportation, and finished goods coordination activities within the Bammel manufacturing cabinet. This role expands beyond traditional shipping management by driving end-to-end logistics performance, transportation efficiency, inventory flow, customer delivery execution, and cross-functional coordination between production, inventory, scheduling, customer service, and carriers.

The Shipping Logistics Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, on-time delivery, freight optimization, labor productivity, dock efficiency, and customer satisfaction while supporting lean manufacturing principles and operational excellence.

Develop effective leadership throughout all departments developing “tomorrow’s leaders.”

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Logistics & Transportation Management

• Manage all outbound logistics operations for finished cabinets and related products.
• Coordinate transportation scheduling with internal teams and external carriers.
• Optimize truck loading, routing, freight utilization, and delivery schedules.
• Develop and maintain relationships with freight providers and logistics partners.
• Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for transportation savings.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, DOT requirements, and company policies.

Shipping Operations Leadership

• Oversee daily shipping department operations including loading, staging, scanning, and shipment verification.
• Ensure accurate and timely shipment of customer orders.
• Lead dock scheduling and workflow coordination to maximize efficiency.
• Establish and maintain shipping KPIs and accountability measures.

Qualifications & Required Skills

Qualifications may include:

• 5+ years of experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
• Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Cabinet manufacturing or building products experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of logistics coordination and transportation management.
• Experience with ERP/WMS systems and shipping software.
• Ability to analyze operational metrics and drive improvements.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Forklift certification and knowledge of shipping compliance preferred.
