Shipping Foreman

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Fargo, ND area. Our client is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead daily fabrication shop activities and crews.

Position Responsibilities:

- Supervise shop or shipping crews and assign daily work

- Ensure production meets schedule, quality, and safety standards

- Coordinate with production management on priorities and material flow

- Train and develop shop employees

- Maintain an organized, safe, and productive work area

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Review shop drawings and work orders with crew members

- Monitor fit-up, welding, and finishing or loading and shipping activities

- Verify quality and completeness before parts move on

- Track labor, production, and material usage

- Report equipment, staffing, and schedule issues

Position Skills:

- 3+ years of experience in a structural steel or metal fabrication shop

- Prior lead or foreman experience

- Strong ability to read shop drawings

- Knowledge of welding processes and AWS D1.1 standards

- Experience in an AISC-certified shop a plus

- Forklift and overhead crane experience
