Shop Assistant

We are seeking a Shop Assistant to expedite shipments and receivables, compile equipment for all AVS events, perform inventory on equipment and gear and support all field shop activities as needed. This is an entry-level role that provides hands-on training and career development opportunities. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual who is eager to learn, take on new responsibilities, and grow within the organization.

This is a Full-Time position Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, on-site at our warehouse facility Van Nuys, CA. Occasional overtime may be required based on show and event schedules, including early morning deliveries, evening pickups, and occasional weekend support. The wage is $19-$20 per hour.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collect and distribute shipments and receivables each morning.
• Facilitate the shipping and receiving of products and gear by helping to load and unload equipment.
• Compile and scan complete load list for events by picking, packing, and shipping all necessary equipment.
• Prepare equipment for loading and perform offloading for AVS equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment.
• Check in packages and move equipment to appropriate locations within the shop.
• Provide transportation of equipment for maintenance/repair to local off-site locations.
• Provide onsite support by assisting with equipment shipments and inventory at designated NEP events.

Position Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record is required.
• Some experience in a shop environment is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of equipment handling and inventory management preferred.
• Must be willing and able to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs., and be willing to seek assistance for anything over 50 lbs. (should not seek to do over 50 lbs. without assistance).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• High School Diploma, Technical Degree preferred, however a combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience Microsoft operating systems and applications a plus.
• Must be willing and able to travel to NEP events on an as needed basis.
