Material Handler / Shop Floor Helper

Location: Somerville, NJ
Pay: $17/hr to start with fast advancement into the $20s within 30–45 days
Shift: Training on 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, then transition to 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role

We are looking for motivated and dependable Material Handlers / Shop Floor Helpers to join our production and warehouse team. This entry-level position supports day to day operations by moving materials, assisting machine operators, preparing products for shipment, and helping keep the shop running efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who want to start a career in manufacturing or the metals industry. No experience is required—full training is provided with clear pathways to higher skilled, higher paying roles.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with handling, staging, and moving raw materials and finished sheet metal
• Package sheet metal products according to customer and quality standards
• Build and prepare wooden skids and pallets for shipments
• Load and unload trucks safely
• Support machine operators to maintain workflow and production levels
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Maintain inventory accuracy for raw materials and finished goods
• Follow all company safety procedures
• Keep the shop floor clean, organized, and safe
• Perform general warehouse and production support tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Prior warehouse, manufacturing, or construction experience helpful but not required
• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Reliable, punctual, and safety focused
