Job Title: Shop Helper / General Laborer
Location: Lamar, MO
Employment Type: Full-time
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–4:30pm
Summary of the Role:The Shop Helper will assist welders and other production employees in a fast-paced welding and fabrication shop. Primary responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting with general shop operations, and packing completed orders for shipment. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina, dependability, and a strong work ethic. Welding experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist welders and fabrication employees with daily production needs.
- Gather, move, and organize materials for welding and fabrication operations.
- Prepare and stage materials for production.
- Pack, wrap, and prepare completed orders for shipment.
- Verify products are properly packaged and organized.
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop as needed.
- Use basic hand tools and shop equipment when necessary.
- Assist with organizing finished products and maintaining inventory areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
- Perform additional general labor and shop duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Ability to perform physical labor throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed.
- Comfortable working in a welding and fabrication shop environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting.
- Strong attention to detail when packing and preparing orders.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, fabrication, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
- Welding experience is not required.
Compensation:$20.60 per hour
