Shop Helper Night Shift

EHC is seeking a Shop Hand-Night Shift for a Client in the Houston Area

Position Summary

The Shop Hand is responsible for maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient machine shop environment. This role supports production operations by ensuring materials, supplies, and equipment are readily available while assisting with shop housekeeping and workflow.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Remove and dispose of machine cuttings and scrap materials.
• Replenish machine coolant levels as needed.
• Sweep and maintain cleanliness of machine shop floors.
• Ensure finished parts continue moving efficiently through the production process.
• Load and unload racks and pallet stands to support operators and improve material handling.
• Monitor and maintain thread protector inventory and availability.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist rack hands and other production personnel as needed.
• Collect, transport, and deliver supplies to production lines.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Tools, Equipment, and Machinery

• Inspection, measuring, and testing equipment as required by applicable work instructions and procedures.
• Forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Trade school training is a plus.
• Must be able to read and write.

Experience

• No prior experience required.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

Performance Requirements

• Ability to successfully demonstrate job proficiency within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to safely perform all essential job functions.

Training

• Company safety training.
• Quality system orientation and training.
• Management system familiarization through required reading materials.
• Formal training on work instructions, operating procedures, and applicable industry standards as outlined in the training matrix.
