Shop Manager

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the West Palm Beach, FL area. Our client is seeking a Shop / Fabrication Manager to lead fabrication operations, people, and production performance.

Position Responsibilities:

- Lead all fabrication shop operations, including fitting, welding, finishing, and shipping

- Plan shop schedules and capacity to meet project deadlines

- Drive safety, quality, and productivity improvements

- Manage, hire, and develop shop supervisors and craft employees

- Partner with project management and detailing on priorities

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Review backlog and set daily and weekly production priorities

- Monitor labor hours, throughput, and cost performance

- Support quality programs and AISC certification requirements

- Oversee equipment maintenance and capital needs

- Report production metrics to leadership

Position Skills:

- 5+ years of leadership experience in a structural steel or metal fabrication shop

- Experience in an AISC-certified fabrication facility preferred

- Strong knowledge of welding, fitting, and CNC equipment

- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience a plus

- Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills

Benefits:
