Shop Mechanic

Axis Industries is seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Mechanic to join our team in a full-time, permanent position. As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles used in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and trucks

- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine the best course of action for repairs

- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and ensure equipment is in safe and working condition

- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed

- Order and maintain inventory of necessary parts and supplies

- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects

- Follow all safety protocols and company policies when working on equipment and vehicles

- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to report progress and discuss any issues or concerns

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in a shop setting

- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

- Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus

- Must have own tools and a valid driver's license

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts

- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and occasional overtime as needed
