Shop Operator / Material Handler

Now Hiring: Shop Operator/Material Handler
Location: Houston, TX 77051
Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay: $17-$18/hour

The Houston branch of Openwork has partnered with a growing Pipe, Valve & Flange company in Houston to add a Material Handler to their team!

What You'll Be Doing: 

• Assist with upkeep of shop machines/fork lifts; consisting of adding coolant and oil
• Load and unload finished pieces from shop machines
• Preparing finished materials for shipment
• Keeping shop floor clean at all times
• Assisting shipping department
• Observe necessary safety precautions
• Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed.
• Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager

What We're Looking For: 
• Experience operating a forklift
• Stable work history, preferably in a warehouse/distribution environment
• Can work independently with minimal supervision
• Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation
• Positive attitude and a good team member

PPE Required:

• Hardhat; Type 1 Class E, Orange (high visibility) 

• Safety Glasses – ANSI z87+, Clear 

• Safety Vest – Type R, Class 2, None FR, Yellow/Green, or Orange 

• Cut resistant gloves LVL 4+ 

• Steel Toed Boots (at least 5” ankle coverage)
