    Description

    HiFyve is hiring for a Crane Shop Service Technician!


    Salary: $35–$50+/hour DOE

    Location: Houma, LA



    We are seeking an experienced Crane Shop Service Technician to join a leading heavy equipment dealership specializing in mobile cranes and lifting equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mobile cranes and heavy lifting equipment in a professional shop environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical troubleshooting experience and be comfortable working independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. OEM training and manufacturer certifications are preferred or will be provided.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic truck cranes, rough terrain cranes, all terrain cranes, crawler cranes, carry deck cranes, boom trucks, and heavy lifting equipment
    • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel engine repairs in a shop environment
    • Inspect booms, winches, outriggers, swing systems, hoists, wire ropes, and lifting components to identify safety and performance concerns
    • Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled service, warranty repairs, major component replacements, and equipment rebuilds
    • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and OEM technical manuals
    • Troubleshoot engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, electronic controls, CAN bus systems, and load moment indicator (LMI) systems
    • Perform operational testing, load testing, and final quality inspections following repairs
    • Complete service reports, inspection documentation, work orders, and parts requests accurately
    • Communicate repair findings and recommendations with service management
    • Maintain shop tools, equipment, and a clean, organized, and safe work environment
    • Follow OSHA, ANSI, manufacturer, and company safety standards
    • Provide occasional support for field service or emergency breakdown calls as needed
    • Participate in ongoing OEM training to remain current on new equipment and technologies


    Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • 3–5+ years of experience repairing cranes, heavy construction equipment, heavy-duty trucks, or similar mobile equipment
    • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical troubleshooting skills
    • Experience reading hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and OEM service manuals
    • Experience working on Tadano, Tadano Demag, Tadano Mantis, Kobelco, Broderson, Terex, Grove, Link-Belt, Manitowoc, National Crane, Elliott, Liebherr, or similar mobile crane equipment preferred
    • Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electronic controls, and CAN bus diagnostics
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced shop environment
    • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; CDL is a plus
    • NCCCO, ASE, or manufacturer certifications are a plus
