Continuum Recruiting is helping our client find a Simulation Engineer to join its founding team. This role is for a high-agency builder excited by the 0-to-1 grind of an intense early-stage startup. You'll take ambiguous real-world systems and turn them into validated simulations customers can trust, directly enabling new customer onboarding and expansion of the platform.
What You’ll Do:
Work with Fortune 500 companies and Magnificent Seven technology companies on systems that can make autonomous deployment safer and faster.
Own customer-system onboarding end-to-end, translating physical robots, sensors, and environments into our client’s simulation platform from the earliest stage of the company.
Build and calibrate high-fidelity simulation models for sensing modalities including cameras, lidar, and radar from first principles.
Work hands-on and onsite with customers to tune and calibrate simulations, taking them from roughly 80% to near-100% accuracy.
Define and execute test plans that quantitatively validate simulation fidelity against real-world data.
Build Python tooling and automation that makes calibration, testing, and onboarding repeatable and scalable.
Work in an intense founding environment where individual engineering work directly impacts customer success and company growth.
Requirements
5+ years of experience building and calibrating robotics or hardware simulation end-to-end.
Hands-on simulation experience with sensors such as cameras, lidar, or radar.
Experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim/Lab; other simulators such as MuJoCo or Gazebo may provide a ramp-up path.
Strong Python skills for data analysis, testing, automation, and tooling.
Deep end-to-end ownership of at least one sensor or system simulation rather than surface-level simulator use.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar; a 3.7-4.0 GPA is preferred.
Personable, strong communicator who can work effectively with customers.
Broad builder mindset and willingness to work across domains.
Nice to have:
Experience with non-visible sensing systems such as infrared/thermal, UV, radar, or lidar.
Experience programming in Rust and/or C++.
