Site Materials and Logistics Coordinator

Position Purpose

Receives, protects and controls everything that arrives on site. This role is urgent, as major equipment deliveries are beginning and there is currently no named owner for receiving, preservation or custody.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and sequence inbound deliveries against the installation schedule so equipment arrives in the order it is needed, not the order it ships.
• Coordinate offloading, heavy haul routing, permits, escorts and crane availability for oversized loads.
• Receive and inspect every delivery with QA/QC, photograph condition on arrival and file damage claims within carrier and vendor time limits.
• Run the equipment preservation program, including desiccant, nitrogen blanketing, rotation of shafts, weather protection and preservation logs.
• Control laydown yards and secure storage, and maintain a live materials location register.
• Build the initial spare parts inventory and set up the storeroom that operations will inherit.
• Issue materials to contractors with signed accountability and track consumption against allowances.

Required Qualifications

• Five or more years of site materials management on industrial construction projects.
• Direct experience receiving oversized process equipment and managing preservation.
• Working knowledge of heavy haul logistics, permits and rigging coordination.
• Practical inventory system experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Import and customs documentation experience for overseas sourced equipment.
• Experience setting up a maintenance storeroom and CMMS item master.
