The databases product family is critical for customer success on GCP, making reliability, performance, security, and durability top business priorities.Cloud SQL SRE's mission is to ensure that Cloud SQL has industry leading reliability, performance, and security, yet is cost effective to operate at scale. We are the backbone of our managed database service, orchestrate the operation of individual database instances while simultaneously steering a fleet of over 800,000 GCE VMs. From cradle to Cloud, we ensure unwavering reliability, scalability, and support for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server, propelling Cloud SQL to the forefront of Cloud services.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Automate rollouts, build robust monitoring systems, and seamlessly integrate Cloud SQL with the rest of Google. 
  • Be able to master database technologies.
  • Identify and contribute to projects that improve the reliability, performance, security, and efficiency of Cloud SQL. Engage in design reviews and launch reviews for new features, providing feedback from an SRE perspective.
