Work includes containment, removal, handling, and treatment activities performed under strict environmental, hazardous-material, and site safety controls.This position will provide dedicated site safety leadership throughout field operations, working closely with project management, supervision, contractors, and field personnel. The Site Safety Manager will monitor construction and remediation activities, identify and correct unsafe conditions, and help ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable project safety plans and regulatory requirements.Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Safety from an ABET-accredited institution with at least 5 years of large-project construction safety experience as a titled safety professional; or CSP or CHST with 5 years of experience as a titled Safety Manager; or OSHA 500 with 5 years of experience as a titled Safety ManagerAdditional Requirements Ability to work onsite in Chesterfield, VA Ability to support a 40-hour-per-week project schedule Strong understanding of construction-site hazard recognition and mitigation Ability to work effectively with project leadership, contractors, and field personnel Ability to maintain accurate safety documentation and follow project-specific environmental and hazardous-material controlsKey ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day site safety oversight for environmental remediation activitiesMonitor containment, excavation, soil handling, groundwater remediation, and related field operationsConduct routine site inspections and identify unsafe conditions or work practicesCoordinate corrective actions with project supervision and field teamsSupport pre-task planning, hazard assessments, safety meetings, and field briefingsMonitor compliance with project safety plans and applicable regulatory requirementsMaintain required safety records, inspection documentation, and field reportsParticipate in incident reviews and implementation of corrective and preventive measuresSupport safe coordination between contractors, equipment operators, remediation personnel, and project managementReinforce site controls associated with hazardous-material and environmental remediation workSkillsConstruction safety managementEnvironmental remediation safetyHazard identification and risk mitigationField safety inspectionsPre-task planning and hazard assessmentsIncident prevention and corrective actionContractor safety coordinationSafety documentation and reportingRegulatory complianceKnowledge BaseThe successful Site Safety Manager should have strong working knowledge of construction safety management, OSHA requirements, field hazard assessment, contractor oversight, incident prevention, and safety documentation.
