Overview

Chenega's Security Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) proudly supports the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program by providing transitioning service members with meaningful civilian workforce experience prior to separation from military service.

The Talent Acquisition & Human Resources Internship offers active-duty service members the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee lifecycle activities, and HR operations within a dynamic government contracting environment. Interns will work alongside Talent Acquisition and Human Resources professionals to develop practical business skills, learn best practices in federal contracting recruitment and workforce management, and prepare for a successful transition into civilian careers.

This position will require two days a week in-office at our Chantilly, VA HQ. 

Responsibilities

What You'll Get To Do:

• Support Talent Acquisition and Human Resources functions within the Security Strategic Business Unit.
• Assist with candidate sourcing, pipeline development, talent market research, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Support interview coordination, candidate communications, and hiring process activities.
• Participate in talent acquisition strategy discussions and recruitment process improvement initiatives.
• Support onboarding and employee engagement activities.
• Assist with maintaining personnel and recruiting records in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition professionals, Human Resources personnel, hiring managers, and business leaders.
• Conduct research and prepare reports, presentations, and other business deliverables as assigned.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

You'll Bring the Following:

• Current active-duty service member approved for participation in the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program.
• Within 180 days of anticipated separation or retirement from military service.
• Ability to obtain all required command approvals to participate in the SkillBridge Program.
• Interest in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Business Operations, Workforce Planning, or related career fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior leadership, administration, personnel management, training, or operational experience gained through military service.
• Interest in pursuing a civilian career in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Business Operations, Program Management, or Workforce Planning.
• Experience utilizing collaboration tools, personnel systems, or applicant tracking systems.
