Role: Slalom Flex (Project Based) - Project Manager

Location: Phoenix, AZ

• Please note: This role is a hybrid role. Employees must live within a commutable distance of the Tempe area to be onsite 2 or 3 times a week.*

The Project Manager is accountable for supporting IT enablement and operational readiness for a manufacturing site in Tempe, AZ. This role provides day-to-day leadership across discovery, planning, implementation, and stabilization phases, ensuring seamless IT cutover from legacy systems to modern standard platforms while maintaining continuity of critical plant systems and applications.

Acting as the primary point of coordination between team members and client stakeholders, the Project Manager drives clarity, momentum, and accountability throughout the engagement. This position is critical during hypercare and stabilization periods, ensuring rapid identification and resolution of system and integration issues impacting site readiness, production continuity, and quality outcomes.

The Project Manager oversees implementation planning, staffing coordination, and execution across manufacturing operations and support teams. They manage dependencies, risks, and changes while establishing sustainable support processes, facilitating knowledge transfer, and ensuring smooth operational handoffs to steady-state support teams. This role ensures consistent application of training and change management strategies while supporting issue escalation and resolution throughout the engagement lifecycle.

In addition, the Project Manager provides strategic leadership around stakeholder engagement, readiness, and sustainment. They partner closely with delivery team members and executive sponsors to ensure the implementation transitions successfully from cutover through hypercare to steady-state operations, delivering measurable outcomes and a sustainable operational model.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of manufacturing IT system implementations, ensuring scope, timeline, and quality objectives are met during TSA cutover and stabilization
• Coordinate cutover planning and execution, including staffing and resource alignment across manufacturing operations
• Manage program governance, status reporting, and executive updates throughout transition
• Oversee training and change management efforts, ensuring readiness and adoption across diverse manufacturing and technical roles
• Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and scope changes, escalating issues and driving rapid resolution to maintain production continuity
• Partner with client leadership to ensure stakeholder engagement, readiness, and sustainment strategies are executed effectively
• Track and report on success metrics, system stability, and operational performance during hypercare and post-go-live
• Partner with change management team members to oversee change adoption and knowledge transfer activities
• Support establishment of sustainable support processes and operational handoffs to steady-state teams

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience leading technology implementations in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Strong program and project management capabilities with experience managing complex system cutovers or migrations
• Experience managing transitions, system stabilization, or hypercare support activities
• Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
• Ability to proactively manage risks, dependencies, and scope changes in fast-paced operational environments
• Experience overseeing training and change management efforts at scale
• Familiarity with manufacturing operations, plant systems, quality systems, or manufacturing IT environments preferred
• Consulting experience
• Ability to be onsite in Tempe, AZ 2 to 3 times a week

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the hourly pay range is $60 to $65/HR depending on experience. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
