SMH Allied Sterile Processing Tech - EVENINGS - Contract

Title: Sterile Processing Tech
Duration: 11 weeks
Location: 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642
Schedule: Day Shift, 8*5 40hours/week

• Schedule: Evenings; weekends/holidays; on-call/callback per unit needs

• Hours: 40 hrs/week

• Experience: 3 years SPT experience

• Facility: Large hospital experience required (500 beds)

• Travel Experience: Minimum 6 months

• Certifications: HSPA or CBSPD BLS

• References: 2 professional references from last 2 assignments

Responsibilities:

• Decontamination, HLD, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments/trays

• Prepare and sterilize instruments for 35 OR suites, AFC units, and clinics

• Operate steam sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, heat sealers, Steris units, cart wash, etc.

• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, proper assembly, function, and sterility

• Maintain sterilizer documentation, biological testing, load sheets, and QA records

• Handle infectious waste/linen and maintain infection-control standards

• Manage surgical supplies, inventory, stock levels, and procedure carts

• Identify equipment requiring repair and maintain equipment-use/service records

• Track instruments/trays using Getinge T-DOC barcode system

Preferred:

• Level I Trauma Center experience

• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)

• Orthopedic tray experience

Key Must-Haves:HSPA/CBSPD BLS 3 yrs SPT 500 bed hospital 6 months travel experience
