Travel Surgical Technologist – Main OR

Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642
Schedule: 4×12-hour Rotating Shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights) – 48 Hours/Week

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the Main Operating Room at a Level I Trauma Center. The OR supports a broad range of surgical specialties and utilizes advanced surgical technology, including Da Vinci robotic systems and a comprehensive transplant program.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Scrub and assist surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures.
  • Maintain sterile technique throughout all procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during operations.
  • Handle surgical instruments, specimens, and supplies appropriately.
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience
  • NBSTSA Certification (or 10 years of Surgical Technologist experience)
  • Ability to independently scrub surgical cases
  • Operating Room experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Experience with EPIC EMR preferred

Certifications

  • BLS (AHA) – Required
  • NBSTSA Certification – Required(or 10 years of Surgical Technologist experience)

Schedule Details

  • 4×12-hour rotating shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights)
  • 48 hours per week
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts.

Candidate Information Required

  • Earliest available start date
  • Requested Time Off (RTO), if any
  • Recent EPIC experience in the Operating Room
  • Interview availability
  • Confirmation of living 50+ miles from the facility
  • Acknowledgement of rotating Day/Evening/Night schedule
  • Ability to obtain a TB Skin Test
