Job Description
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
SpaceSDK is a framework for generating, building, and running software applications for satellite components. SpaceSDK is used by applications across Amazon Leo systems to to manage concurrency, inter process communication and to provide common functionality.
Key job responsibilities
Design and develop embedded software in Rust, C++, or other modern languages.
Write system applications for the various satellite systems and device interfaces like CAN etc.
Scale up SpaceSDK to support an increasing number of Satellite components.
Develop monitoring and telemetry for Satellite components.
Develop security features for satellite systems.
Collaborate with other software and hardware teams
Troubleshoot and solve critical issues on satellites orbiting in space
Be a champion for the quality, reliability and security of critical code.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
We are a fast paced team working on developing and maintaining a critical software framework used by key components on a satellite. We like to solve challenging software engineering problems, as well as root cause failures on in-orbit satellites and help mission control recover satellites.
