Software Engineer DAL (DO-178/DO-254) - OR - 1801

Our client in the Oregon area is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with expertise in DAL (DO-178 and/or DO-254 certification) to work in In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) and cabin management systems. You will play a key role in developing and certifying safety-critical avionics systems for next-generation IFE solutions, ensuring compliance with FAA/EASA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, verify, and certify safety-critical avionics software per DO-178 DAL D guidelines.

• Support DO-254 compliance for hardware.

• Debug and resolve issues in real-time embedded systems

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years in avionics software/hardware development.

• Hands-on experience with DO-178 and/or DO-254 certification preferred

• Knowledge of avionics standards (ARINC, RTCA) and IFE systems (preferred).

• Experience with model-based design (i.e Simulink) and static analysis tools (i.e LDRA, Polyspace) could be an advantage

Nice-to-Have:

• Prior work with IFE vendors.

• Understanding of DAL (Design Assurance Levels) and FAA/EASA audits.

• Scripting skills for test automation.
