    Job Description:

    Department Description

At Disney, we’re storytellers. We make the impossible, possible. The Walt Disney Company is a world-class entertainment and technological leader. Walt’s passion was to continuously envision new ways to move audiences around the world—a passion that remains our touchstone in an enterprise that stretches from theme parks, resorts and a cruise line to sports, news, movies and a variety of other businesses. Uniting each endeavor is a commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences — and we’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance these exciting experiences.

The Enterprise Technology mission is to deliver technology solutions that align to business strategies while enabling enterprise efficiency and promoting cross-company collaborative innovation. Our group drives competitive advantage by enhancing our consumer experiences, enabling business growth, and advancing operational excellence.

    Team Description:

The Corporate Technology group is part of the Products organization, responsible for delivering and supporting the technology that powers TWDC’s corporate functions, enterprise workflows, and service management platforms. Our scope spans the entire product lifecycle — from setting strategy and roadmaps to overseeing project delivery, engineering, and ongoing support. Through these efforts, we drive digital transformation across our business, workforce, and technology communities.

This role is located within the Audience & Content Engagement area. From evergreen digital destinations to campaigns and events, this team provide solutions for the full flywheel of content publication, discovery, engagement, amplification, and insights. These enable measurable connections to business engagement and performance. We work directly with a variety of businesses and brands across The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Parks, ABC, ESPN, and more.

    What You’ll Do:

The Software Engineer is responsible for developing high-quality software solutions that support business needs and align with enterprise technology standards. This role offers a balance of technical challenge, learning opportunity, and collaborative problem-solving, with support from more senior engineers and technical leads.  Working as part of a cross-functional product team, the Software Engineer participates in the full software development lifecycle—helping to design, code, test, and deploy solutions that integrate with broader enterprise systems. They contribute to technical design discussions, write clear and maintainable code, and support the ongoing operation and performance of assigned systems.

    Engineering & Solution Delivery

    • Participate in the development and delivery of complex CMS websites, integration, and services for our internal partners, from initial discovery through launch, ongoing iteration, and operations
    • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that align with functional specifications and technical standards
    • Write clean, maintainable, and secure code with attention to performance and reusability
    • Translate business requirements and user stories into technical tasks and working features
    • Collaborate with senior engineers to refine solution designs and learn architectural best practices
    • Integrate systems using REST APIs, message queues, or platform-specific tooling
    • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to continuously improve code quality

    Technical Architecture & Standards

    • Apply established engineering patterns and architectural standards in day-to-day development work
    • Begin to contribute to design decisions within assigned features or components
    • Build knowledge of enterprise frameworks and principles of scalable system design
    • Understand and implement accessibility (A11y) standards, including WCAG and WAI-ARIA, in developed code

    Project & Agile Execution

    • Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives as part of an agile development team
    • Contribute to estimating, scoping, and delivery planning for short-term assignments
    • Track progress and document work in Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow or similar platforms
    • Support QA and release processes by writing test cases, fixing bugs, and participating in deployment reviews

    Collaboration & Growth

    • Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and UX designers to understand user needs
    • Collaborate with platform engineers, architects, and support teams to ensure system reliability and maintainability
    • Seek out and apply feedback from senior engineers to grow technical skills and delivery effectiveness
    • Build relationships with other developers and team members across the organization

    Operational Support & Documentation

    • Provide support for production issues and assist in troubleshooting technical problems
    • Develop and maintain documentation for code, systems, features, and processes
    • Contribute to ongoing support efforts by improving observability, logging, and incident readiness
    • Learn and apply ITSM and ITIL best practices as part of broader platform support

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a software engineering or software development role, with a focus on web or enterprise applications
    • Experience with Laravel, WordPress and/or LAMP tech stack with web frameworks, languages, and libraries
