Position Summary

• The Torque Team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer operating at or near a Lead Engineer level to help deliver, support, and strategically evolve the enterprise platform that enables secure, governed, data access.
• We are prioritizing Software Engineers with Platform Engineering experience over traditional Data Engineers. The ideal candidate builds and operates secure, scalable platform services (APIs, access management, infrastructure automation).
• This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership. The successful candidate will not only build and support platform capabilities but will also help determine the most effective and efficient way to deliver them — thinking beyond individual tickets or teams to the enterprise-wide scale, security, governance, and sustainability of these platforms. A technical coding assessment is part of the interview process, and candidates must be able to code hands-on — this is non-negotiable.

Must-Have Requirements

• Must be a Software Engineer with Platform Engineering experience — not a traditional Data Engineer
• Overall Experience: 5+ years in Software, Cloud, or Platform Engineering
• Required Technical Skills: AWS Services, Access & Security, IAM, Secrets Manager, API Gateway, Lake Formation (access policy enforcement), Entra AD, Lambda, Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, Open Table Format S3 (Iceberg), RDS/PostgreSQL, Redshift, Glue (Catalog, ETL, Crawler), Athena
• Strong hands-on coding in Python
• Infrastructure: Terraform Enterprise, Infrastructure as Code, Git
