The Multi-Domain Operations, a division within Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is known for pushing the boundaries of innovation, redefining engineering capabilities, and driving advances in various sciences through cutting-edge technology. We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and support of software systems. Successful candidates should be skilled in software development, system-level architecture, and Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities:
• Developing, maintaining, and optimizing software solutions that enable mission critical systems and applications • Creating high quality software to enhance system performance and scalability • Implementing automation to streamline workflows and processes • Developing tools to support data integrity and secure software operations
Requirements:
• Strong understanding of system level software architecture • Ability to translate customer needs into actionable development tasks • Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle and best practices, including version control, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
About the Role:
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer to perform as a Infrastructure/Environment Lead in supporting the Advanced Capabilities Business Unit (BU). This position would be based in Aurora, CO.
About Our Organization:
As an engineer, youll be joining our growing Aurora Software department which has 200+ Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, and Network Engineer peers from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects. Staff Software Engineers frequently get into informal (example: Subject Matter Expert) and formal technical leadership roles within their programs, as applicable and per interest.
We have plenty of opportunity for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions. Our Software Department is part of a larger organization that includes Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test staff as well as a Hardware Engineering unit. This larger organization influences cross-program collaboration, professional development and training, as well as engagement and inclusion activities such as lunch-n-learns, campus events, and leadership mixers.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of relative experience • Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 0+ years of relative experience • An additional 4 years of relative experience may be considered in lieu of degree • Active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required at time of application • Experience with designing, testing, implementing, and developing in Java • Experience with Git • Experience with Kubernetes and/or Helm • Experience with databases such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or MySQL • Experience with agile tools such as Jira and Confluence
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with creating Rest API's • Experience with ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ • Experience with Linux • Experience with micro service architecture
Salary Range:
The primary level salary range is $91,800.00 - $137,600.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Benefits:
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
