  • Analyze requirements and develop preliminary and detailed software designs.
  • Design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and maintain safety-critical software applications.
  • Apply software engineering standards, processes, procedures, and tools to deliver reliable solutions.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues involving software requirements, architecture, interfaces, data, and system performance.
  • Develop technical documentation, operating instructions, and software artifacts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, program leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership and innovative contributions to new business opportunities and future product capabilities.
  • Own technical, cost, and schedule execution for software development efforts.

You bring strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and can work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse engineering teams. You're ready to take ownership, influence technical decisions, and mentor others while delivering high-quality software.

Why Join Us

At Lockheed Martin, you'll work on technology that matters alongside talented engineers tackling some of the world's most challenging problems. You'll have opportunities to grow your technical leadership, work on cutting-edge mission systems, and help shape what comes next-all while building capabilities that help create a safer tomorrow.

Basic Qualifications

  • Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree with 9 years or more of professional experience; or 7 year of professional experience with a related Masters degree
  • Demonstrated experience leading a software engineering team or project through multiple phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, design, implementation, test, and release).
  • Experience planning, estimating, and coordinating technical work packages, including tracking schedule, scope, and technical risk.
  • Deep experience developing, integrating, and troubleshooting embedded software on a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) (e.g., Wind River VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity, LynxOS) or embedded Linux.

Desired Skills
