Software Test Engineer

The Work 

Our Digital Modernization Division is an information technology and management consulting department that offers integrated, strategic solutions to public- and private-sector clients. ICF brings the expertise, agility, and commitment to design, build, and operate high-performance IT solutions that support clients' missions. 

The Software Test Engineer will develop and execute a comprehensive testing approach for the government modernization effort, with emphasis on automated testing, API and backend validation, database verification, defect analysis, and Agile quality engineering. 

Job Location: Remote work is authorized.  Must support US Eastern time zone working hours.

What You Will Do 

• Create and maintain automated end-to-end, integration, regression, and API tests. 

• Develop detailed test plans, test cases, test data, and traceability artifacts. 

• Execute tests, identify and reproduce defects, and support root-cause analysis. 

• Validate APIs, backend services, database results, security requirements, and Section 508 compliance. 

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and report quality metrics. 

• Collaborate closely with developers, the Product Owner, and client stakeholders. 

What You Will Bring With You 

• Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.  

• Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years  

• Candidate must be able to pass successful Public Trust background check 

• US Citizenship is required by the federal government for this position 

• Minimum five years of experience in automated software testing and detailed test planning and execution. 

What We Would Like You To Bring With You 

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; directly related experience may be considered in place of education. 

• Experience with Selenium, Appium, Pytest, TestNG, Postman, or JMeter. 

• Experience using Java, Python, or C for test automation. 

• SQL skills and experience with CI/CD, defect tracking, and source-control tools. 

• Ability to work effectively in Agile delivery teams and collaborate with government and contractor stakeholders 

• Testing or quality certification. 

• Experience with pipeline-integrated automation and Section 508 testing.

• Highly effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across business, technical, and client teams. 

• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple assignments in a delivery-focused environment.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$81,499.00 - $138,549.00
