The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Solder Assembler for an exciting opportunity with a leading electronics manufacturer in Clearwater, FL. This is a hands-on role for candidates with strong soldering skills, SMT assembly experience, and a sharp eye for quality.

If you have experience identifying solder defects, performing touch-up/rework, and working in a fast-paced electronics production environment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform precise manual soldering, touch-up, and rework on SMT assemblies
  • Use soldering irons, hot-air tools, reflow equipment, and solder-pot systems
  • Identify and correct solder defects such as:
    • Tombstoning
    • Solder bridges
    • Voids
    • Insufficient wetting
    • Solder balls
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure workmanship and product quality
  • Utilize AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems when applicable
  • Maintain and calibrate soldering tools and related equipment
  • Document defects, corrective actions, and process improvements
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Follow all safety, ESD, and quality procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Documented professional soldering experience
  • Experience with SMT assembly and solder rework
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/work instructions
  • Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or previous IPC-A-610 Certification
  • Current or previous IPC J-STD Certification
  • AOI experience
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing environments
Pay $22-$26 per hour DOE
