Solution Architect - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Solution Architect for a hybrid position (3 days per week) with a Public Sector Organization located in Minneapolis, MN. This is a contract opportunity.

Compensation: $80.00 - $95.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
The Solution Architect will provide input for developing IT strategic plans, architectures, and standards required to support the client's business and technology vision. This role will also play a key part of the design and support of enterprise level systems and project and application lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contributes to strategy, principles, policies and roadmaps for the IT organization
• Develops technical capability roadmaps
• Designs technical solutions that align to enterprise standards
• Minimizes technical debt from project delivery by ensuring alignment with current and future technical direction of the organization
• Collaborates with business stakeholders, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements
• Conducts and facilitates proof of concepts for exploring new solution options that may not have an established pattern
• Acts as the technical project liaison between IT, managed service providers, vendors, and support teams to help guide, challenge, and recommend IT solutions
• Determines level of involvement needed for a Solution Architect on a given project and communicate/adjust as necessary
• Assists with knowledge transfer and project transition steps to appropriate teams/owners/operations
• Create and maintain architecture and design artifacts for end-to-end Solution Architecture (Solution Design Documents, Software Architecture Documents, etc)
• Facilitate effective meetings, information requirements sessions, advocate compromises and resolve conflicts
• Assist in supporting legacy business applications by providing expertise, troubleshooting and hands-on issue remediation
• Stays abreast of emerging technologies and potential application to the organization

Primary Requirements:

• At least 8+ years of experience with the design, development and integration of highly critical applications
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills and enterprise mindset
• Experience architecting systems for high availability, failover, disaster recovery, and redundancy
• Experience delivering COTS solutions and applications
• Proven record of delivering technology solutions within agreed upon timeframes
• Able to function well in loosely structured situations. Works effectively in situations involving uncertainty or lack of information including troubleshooting of existing systems
• Skilled communicator and negotiator with exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Effectively handles multiple projects or tasks at the same time
• Experience retiring and consolidating obsolete systems onto a modernized platform
• Curious about new technologies and processes. Always seeking way to improve and share knowledge with others

Desired Skills:

• Strong understanding of API and web services (REST/SOAP)
• Knowledge or understanding of O365/Azure AD and related capabilities
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience working with the Microsoft Power Platform including Logic Apps, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate
• Understanding in infrastructure security techniques
• Knowledge of databases, warehouses, business intelligence systems and data analysis and management tools
• Strong SQL skills
