    Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our National Security team supporting Intelligence Community (IC) customers. As a Solutions Architect on the AWS National Security Team, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to IC customers-you are the "face of Amazon" to our most mission-critical customers. You will engage across a broad variety of complex technical challenges that directly impact national security outcomes. This is a high-visibility role where you collaborate with and influence both external stakeholders and internal AWS teams, including sales, platform engineering, and AI/ML service teams.

National Security Solutions Architects (SAs) are recognized as technical thought leaders within the Intelligence Community who evangelize emerging technologies-including agentic AI, machine learning, and computer vision -not only on a conceptual level, but on a practical, architectural level. You will design and deliver AI-powered solutions that enable agencies to extract actionable intelligence from complex data at scale.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

    Key job responsibilities

Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for IC customers, working backwards from mission requirements to envision innovative cloud and AI solutions that accelerate mission outcomes

Technical Thought Leadership: Evangelize emerging AI/ML and Big Data capabilities, including foundation models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, and computer vision, to IC stakeholders at both technical and executive levels

Architecture Design: Craft highly scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures that address IC business problems and accelerate adoption of AWS services across classified environments

AI/ML Solution Architecture: Design and implement generative AI, machine learning, and agentic AI architectures using AWS services (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI, Amazon Q) tailored to IC mission requirements within classified environments

Revenue Growth: Partner with AWS Sales and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities to apply emerging technologies and cloud services to mission challenges

Product Influence: Provide direct feedback to AWS service teams on IC-specific requirements, including feature requests for classified region service parity, and contribute to the development of new tools and capabilities for the cleared environment

Well-Architected Reviews: Conduct AWS Well-Architected assessments with customers to ensure solutions meet best practices for security, reliability, performance, cost optimization, and sustainability

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
