Responsibilities:

The Solution Engineer (SE) will be the dedicated technical pre-sales resource for the Sales team focused on the Keysight products and solutions targeting enterprise customers. The SE will work closely with assigned Regional Sales Manager (covering Texas) and provide all pre-sales support and technical leadership, including presentations, demos, solution creation, Visio drawings, and support proof of value (PoV) with the customer. The successful candidate will be a skilled engineer that is able to assess customer needs and present the appropriate technical solution.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work jointly with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to architect the solution (create Bill of Materials and Visio solution drawings) and ensure recommended solution leverages Keysight enterprise, cloud, visibility and security features and fits into the overall client network and security architecture and requirements.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a technical aptitude to deliver powerful, succinct, convincing, and customer-focused presentations (Microsoft Teams and in person)
• Ask appropriate, insightful questions to identify customer needs, understand business issues and drivers behind specific request.
• Provide thought leadership while working closely with the RSM to coordinate efforts between partners and customers
• Respond timely to technical pre-sales inquiries, requests for information (FRI), requests for proposals (RFP), and requests for quotation (RFQ)
• Drive effective product and solution demos for customers as needed. Conduct and successfully complete Proof of Concept (POC) efforts while engaging customers, channel and tech partners, while managing demo gear to and from the customer
• Assist remotely and on-site with installing and supporting customer proof of value of the proposed solution
• Deliver training for ecosystem technology partner and channel partner engineers and architects to allow them to help identify potential opportunities.
• Leverage social media platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter for brand awareness and marketing.
• Recognized as technical point of contact and technology/market expert by customer
• Travel daily with overnight travel up to 30%

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work
• 5+ years pre-sales experience working with channel partners and customers directly, preferably for networking or software companies
• Detailed understanding of data communications concepts, including on-premise, virtual, and cloud.
• Strong knowledge of switching/routing concept and application protocols, including strong understanding of TCP/IP and Layer 2-7 concepts and protocols
• Understanding of virtualization platforms such as VMware and OpenStack.
• Working knowledge of public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Familiarity with APM/NPM systems and network analyzers.
• Knowledge of SSL encryption and decryption.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Systems Security
• Network Security
• Cloud Security
• API and/or scripting experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills: written and verbal. Ability to effectively present to various audiences using MS Teams.
• Able to work independently but also in a matrix team environment

Preferred Experience

• Enterprise data center networking and troubleshooting with tools from Cisco, FireEye, VMware, Viavi, A10, NetScout, Wireshark, CA, Extrahop, Riverbed, etc.
• Enterprise Security knowledge relating to IDS, IPS, NGFW, Proxy, Threat hunting, Cyber Security, Threat Intelligence
• Network enterprise application performance testing similar to Ixia, BreakingPoint, Spirent

 

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

 

 

Dallas, TX  Pay Range MIN $196,740.00 MIDPOINT $262,310.00 MAX $327,890.00
