Job Overview

The Solutions Engineer serves as a senior technical consultant responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting technology solutions for a portfolio of small and mid-sized business clients. This individual will partner directly with customer leadership teams to develop technology roadmaps, lead complex infrastructure projects, provide advanced technical expertise, and serve as an escalation point for internal support teams.

Responsibilities of the Solutions Engineer:

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor for clients across multiple industries and technology environments.
• 
  
• Develop and maintain strategic technology roadmaps aligned with client business objectives, budgets, and growth plans.
• 
  
• Lead customer onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring a seamless transition and exceptional client experience.
• 
  
• Design, deploy, and optimize infrastructure solutions including networking, cloud services, virtualization, Microsoft technologies, and cybersecurity platforms.
• 
  
• Lead infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives from planning through implementation.
• 
  
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and serve as the highest level escalation point for complex technical issues.
• 
  
• Mentor and develop Help Desk and Senior Help Desk Technicians through knowledge sharing, coaching, and technical guidance.
• 
  
• Conduct proactive technology assessments, risk analyses, and infrastructure audits to identify improvement opportunities.
• 
  
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations.
• 
  
• Maintain accurate documentation, technical standards, and best practices across client environments.
• 
  
• Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, cybersecurity threats, and evolving best practices.
• 
  
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional communication, technical leadership, and consultative engagement.

Preferred Experience of the PSolutions Engineer:

• 
  
• 8+ years of experience supporting and consulting on business technology solutions in client-facing IT environments.
• 
  
• Experience serving in a senior engineering, systems administration, solutions engineering, or technical consulting capacity.
• 
  
• Strong expertise with Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, networking, VPN technologies, and cybersecurity solutions.
• 
  
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting cloud, infrastructure, and hybrid technology environments.
• 
  
• Proven ability to lead technology projects and migrations from planning through successful deployment.
• 
  
• Experience developing technology roadmaps and aligning technical recommendations with business outcomes.
• 
  
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• 
  
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• 
  
• Demonstrated success mentoring technical team members and elevating organizational technical capabilities.
• 
  
• Strong documentation, process development, and project management skills.
• 
  

Bonus Experience of the Solutions Engineer:

• 
  
• Previous experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
• 
  
• Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Fortinet, or cybersecurity-related certifications.
• 
  
• Experience leading cloud migration, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
• 
  
• Exposure to compliance-focused environments requiring security, governance, and risk management standards.
• 
  
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions, business continuity planning, and security frameworks.

• Experience presenting technology strategy and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
