Role Summary
The Solutions Engineer works with customers and the sales team to design, explain and validate technical solutions built on the Zettabyte platform.
The role turns customer requirements into architectures that work in production, and proves them through demonstrations, proof-of-concepts and pilots.
The Solutions Engineer is the technical bridge between customers and Zettabyte's product and engineering teams.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Head of Sales
Key Responsibilities
- Solution design: work with customers to design technical solutions on the Zettabyte platform.
- Requirements to architecture: translate customer requirements into system architectures and workflows.
- Sales support: support sales cycles with technical presentations and demonstrations.
- Proof-of-concepts: run proof-of-concepts and pilot deployments through to a clear outcome.
- Reference architectures: design reference architectures and deployment models that can be reused across customers.
- Feasibility: check solution feasibility with product and engineering before commitments are made.
- Technical bridge: carry customer feedback into the product and engineering teams.
- Documentation: document solutions, demos and lessons for the sales and solutions team.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in solutions engineering or technical consulting
- A strong understanding of infrastructure, cloud or AI systems
- The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to customers
- A customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfort working across sales, product and engineering teams
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with GPU infrastructure or AI workloads
- Background in data centres or high-performance computing
- Pre-sales or customer-facing technical experience
- Scripting or automation experience
What Success Looks Like (First 90 to 180 Days)
- Customer architectures are documented and agreed before pilots start
- Proof-of-concepts have clear success criteria and outcomes
- Reference architectures are reused across deals
- Product and engineering receive structured customer feedback

Details
- Workplace: Hybrid in Palo Alto (3 days in office, 2 days remote), or remote within the United States with team presence in Seattle and Palo Alto and core hours of 10:00 to 15:00 PT
- Employment type: Full-time
- Compensation: USD 175,000 to 225,000 a year base salary, plus equity
