Sourcing Specialist - Houston, TX (Remote) 

Location: Remote - Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $34.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and analytical Sourcing Specialist to support a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic sourcing professional with healthcare procurement and contract management experience to identify cost-saving opportunities, strengthen supplier relationships, and support efficient purchasing operations in a complex healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic sourcing initiatives for goods, equipment, and services by identifying spending categories and opportunities for cost savings.

   

• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and maximize contract value.

   

• Assist with contract negotiations, requests for proposals (RFPs), and the implementation and administration of supplier contracts and agreements.

   

• Work with suppliers, group purchasing organizations, and other institutions to identify opportunities for aggregated purchasing and improved pricing.

   

• Monitor supply markets, conduct market research, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations.

   

• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, procurement guidelines, organizational policies, and procedures.

   

• Collaborate with suppliers to implement technology solutions, including e-procurement systems and electronic catalogs.

   

• Perform complex financial analyses using models such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), lease-versus-buy comparisons, and economic value assessments.

   

• Calculate, track, and report actual and projected sourcing savings across spending categories.

   

• Apply analytical thinking, sound judgment, innovation, and strong communication skills to support sourcing decisions and business objectives.

   

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, healthcare, business, or a related field is required.

   

• Advanced degree in business, management, hospital administration, or a related field is preferred.

   

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing and contracting, preferably in supply chain management, procurement, or materials management.

   

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in an academic or healthcare environment, including at least three years leading contracting, supply chain management, and/or materials management activities.

   

• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.

   

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.

   

• Ability to evaluate supplier proposals, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support complex sourcing initiatives.
