About the Role:
Gennaros Cafe in the Emsworth area of Pittsburgh, PA is looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef / Line Cook to join our kitchen team! Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute menu items consistently and efficiently during service
• Assist Head Chef with kitchen operations, food prep, and line management
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards at all times
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and plate presentation
• Manage mise en place and ensure stations are stocked and organized before each shift
• Support inventory management, food storage, and minimizing waste
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Line Cook, Sous Chef, or similar kitchen role required
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
• Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations
• ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
• Passion for food quality and a positive, professional attitude
