Job Summary

As a Sous Chef, you will support the daily operation of the Culinary Department within a healthcare setting. This role assists with food production, menu execution, inventory, catering, and team supervision while ensuring food quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef with food, labor, and supply cost management.
• Support menu planning, food preparation, and daily kitchen operations.
• Supervise food production and ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and catering events.
• Train and support culinary associates.
• Implement new culinary programs and maintain customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a healthcare foodservice environment and a union setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
• Progressive culinary or kitchen leadership experience.
• Healthcare, hospital, or institutional foodservice experience preferred.
• High-volume foodservice and batch cooking experience.
• Catering experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, quality standards, and cost controls.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Union environment experience is a plus
