South County Custodian (Floating Position)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role plays a vital part in supporting daily operations by ensuring campus facilities meet high standards of cleanliness, safety, and health in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

This is a floating position, requiring employees to work at and travel between multiple school locations as needed. If you take pride in your work, enjoy working independently, and value creating positive spaces for others, this position may be a great fit for you.

Schedule

Monday - Friday2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Pay Rate

$17.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial and janitorial duties throughout assigned school campuses.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and common areas.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown for school functions, meetings, and activities, both indoors and outdoors.
• Safely operate custodial equipment and properly use cleaning products and chemicals.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Interact professionally and courteously with staff, students, parents, and the public.
• Work independently while effectively managing daily responsibilities and priorities.
• Travel between and provide coverage at multiple school locations based on district operational needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to lift, move, and operate custodial equipment and materials safely.
• Reliable, dependable, and safety-conscious.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between assigned school locations.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a fingerprint background check.
• Successful completion of a Family Care Safety Registry check.
• Current TB test.
