Job Summary

SummaryUnder the direction of the Patient Experience Operations Manager, the Spanish Interpreter provides medical interpretation for clinical and non-clinical encounters to enable communication between patients and families who are limited English proficient and/or hearing impaired and clinicians and other hospital staff. Interpretation will be provided in person or by telephone in compliance with National Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, Brigham and Women's Hospital policies and procedures, and Interpreter Services guidelines to ensure patient safety and access to quality care.Does this position require Patient Care?YesEssential Functions-Responsible for answering requests effectively and in a timely manner for face to face or telephone interpretations for all types of encounters throughout the hospital with priority given to emergency and urgent requests. -Interprets and transmits accurately and in understandable terms, complex medical information from medi
