Spanish Linguist

Position Overview

A defense and national security contractor is seeking a skilled Spanish Linguist with an active Secret clearance to support critical language-enabled missions. The ideal candidate is a native or near-native Spanish speaker with experience in translation, interpretation, or transcription within a government or military context.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform translation, transcription, and interpretation of Spanish-language materials and communications
• Support real-time interpretation for personnel during operations, meetings, or interviews
• Analyze and summarize foreign language materials for reporting and intelligence purposes
• Ensure accuracy and cultural context in all translated materials
• Maintain strict adherence to security protocols and classified information handling procedures
• Collaborate with team members and government customers to deliver timely, high-quality language products

Requirements

• Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
• Active Secret security clearance (required — no exceptions)
• US citizenship required
• Experience in translation, interpretation, or transcription in a government, military, or law enforcement environment
• Ability to work onsite in Key West, FL

Preferred Qualifications

• DLPT score of 3/3 or higher in Spanish
• Prior military or DOD contractor experience
• Familiarity with Caribbean Spanish dialects
• Experience with intelligence community reporting formats
