Job Description
Position Title: Special Education Bus Assistant
Building: Pick up and Drop off from Mentone Elementary
Hours: Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Salary: $13.80 per hour
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate well and work with a team
- Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred
General Responsibilities:
- Assist bus driver in implementing bus rules and safety procedures
- Assist student with entering/exiting the bus and school building
- Assist bus driver with evacuation drills
- Help students to secure seat belts and 5-point harness
- Engage with students to promote a positive bus environment
Physical Responsibilities:
- Must be able to move around bus seats and bend over to unstrap wheelchair straps.
