Position Overview

SENSE Charter School is seeking a passionate and dedicated 6th Grade Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a structured, engaging, and student-centered classroom environment that promotes high academic achievement and social-emotional growth. This teacher will deliver rigorous instruction aligned to state standards using CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) for literacy and Ready Mathematics (Curriculum Associates) for math.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction in all core subject areas, with a strong emphasis on literacy and mathematics
• Implement CKLA curriculum with fidelity to build students' reading, writing, and knowledge across content areas
• Utilize Ready Mathematics to provide data-driven, differentiated math instruction
• Analyze student data regularly to inform instruction and support student growth
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of students
• Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative learning
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Collaborate with colleagues, instructional coaches, and leadership to improve instructional practices
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
• Support the school's mission by promoting character development and community involvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Valid state teaching license or ability to obtain
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all students
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
