As a high school school-based Special Education Teacher in Illinois, your days will include: - Provide individualized, small-group, and inclusive classroom instruction aligned with students' IEPs.
- Collaborate with three classroom teachers to plan and deliver differentiated English and Mathematics instruction for high school students.
- Implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, evidence-based instructional strategies, and assistive technology to support academic success.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs while monitoring student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection.
- Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
- Collaborate with educators, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success and participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with federal, state, and school requirements, including IDEA and Illinois special education regulations.
Job Details Position: Full-time contract in a school setting (1 opening) Dates: ASAP - June 2027 Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday) Classroom Setting: In-person high school inclusion classroom; collaborate with three teachers to support English and Mathematics instruction Grade Level/Caseload: High school; approximately 7-10 students Interview: Virtual; interviews available within 24 hours Successful Candidates Possess - A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (required)
- An active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement (required)
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to support English and Mathematics instruction in an inclusion setting
- The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
